Children International is a
charitable organization that assists children who would not normally receive
such a high level of care. An excerpt from their website, https://www.children.org:
“For more than 75 years, Children
International has been providing critical assistance to children and families
struggling in terrible poverty. Our centrally
located community centers, from which our dedicated in-country staffs operate,
provide resources, programs and services that allow us to reduce the burden of
poverty on impoverished children and youth, invest in their potential and
provide them with opportunities to grow up healthy, educated and prepared to
succeed and contribute to society.
Our mission is to bring real and
lasting change to children living in poverty. In partnership with contributors,
we reduce their daily struggles, invest in their potential, and provide them
with the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated and prepared to succeed and
contribute to society.
At
Children International, we pride ourselves on the effectiveness of our
programs, the transparency of our accounting, and the large amount of change
we’re able to make in the lives of poor children for so little. In
2014, 82% of our total expenses went to support the programs and
activities that directly affect sponsored children.”
Similarly, Joseph Armato also
hopes to help people in need. However, instead of purely charitable work he
does it through professional means. Almost three decades ago, he founded
Nationwide Contracting and Consulting, Inc. to help families, businesses and
organizations whose homes and properties were jeopardized or destroyed by
fires.
